I really did enjoy practicing this weeks exercise. Meditation is something that I practice on a regukar basis and have done so for about 3 months now. I enjoy it primarily because I am able to close out a lot of things around me that poses a distraction from me focusing on building myself. I discovered further more that I need to pace myslef in many of my thoughts and actions. The primary area that I feel I need the most help would be in strengthening my psychospiritual. I need to learn to grow from within and learn to trust those who surround me with positivity and give back that same sense of goodness.
One main exercise that I feel can help me to achieve this aside from meditation would be blogging. Journaling my most inner thoughts an feels can help me grow as well since I tend to be more so of a visual learner. I believe that being to look back o my thought processes, reactions and behaviors can help me to become a better person and a more critical evalutaor of where I currently am versus where I want to be.

Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! Keeping a journal is an excellent way to relieve the stresses in your life...just ask any therapist...I think keeping a private journal is sometimes more beneficial than blogging as you tend to be more honest in your venting in a private journal than you will be in a public blog. There is no fear of what someone will thin abotu what you write, and since you are using it as an outlet...it is important you get the most out of it. Pacing yourself is also a great idea. If you attempt too many changes at once, you will get frustrated and quit....when you pace yourself, you can see the positive changes coming about and this will encourage you to keep up the good work! I think this would benefit clients in assisting them to master their psychospiritual areas, and the journals are a great idea as well!

Hello Jenifer, I enjoyed reading your post and could almost sense your steady calmness. The new tactics that we are learning to use in order to face our daily adventures are truly a blessing in my life. As I approach the one year mark of being back in school I can hardly imagine what my life would have been like if I had not had that serendipitous moment that convinced me to try this new and very interesting learning process. I like your idea about pacing your thoughts and actions this is something that everyone should consider applying to their daily lives to maintain a solid grip on their priorities. Thanks for the info.
